COVID-19 UPDATE
Dear Tim’s Truck & Equipment Service customers,
During these difficult and uncertain times, we want to assure you we are here to continue to support you and your business.
We take our role in keeping your fleet maintained very seriously, and for that reason we are implementing several safety precautions to help stop the spread of COVID-19, to insure we will continue to be open to serve you. Now, more than ever, it’s vital that we provide excellence in customer service so all essential businesses can continue to transport and receive the products that are needed.
In order to protect you and our employees, the following procedures and guidelines are in effect immediately:
SANITATION: We have instructed our employees to increase their efforts on disinfecting all surfaces within our office and shop areas. We will maintain adequate cleaning supplies to ensure the safety of both our customers and employees.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: We ask that you call to inquire about parts or service rather than dropping by the office whenever possible. This will reduce exposure for both yourself and our employees.
PUBLIC AND EMPLOYEE HEALTH: To ensure our employees and customers remain safe please answer the following questions before coming to our facility.
- Do you currently have a cough or cold symptoms?
- Do you currently have a fever or flu-like symptoms?
- Have you been in close contact with someone who has been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting results?
- Have you been in close contact with someone who has traveled outside of Canada in the last 14 days?
- Have you been asked to self-isolate for any reason?
If you answered yes to any of these questions please do not enter our building.

If it is safe for you to enter please follow these precautions:
- Please remain at least 6 (six) feet away from any other person.
- If you need to cough or sneeze use a tissue or cover your face with your bent arm.
- Hand sanitizer is available at the counter as well as pens, which we ask that you take with you if you need to use one.
- We are not permitting sharing of our telephones amongst the staff. If you require a telephone please ask a staff member to dial it for you and your call will be placed on hands-free.
- If you need to use our public washroom please wash your hands thoroughly after use and use the paper towel you dried your hands with to shut off the tap and open the door. Please discard the towel in the waste basket near the door.

Parts Counter Associate

We currently have an opportunity available for a Parts Counter Associate who wants to share in the satisfaction of a job well done.
As the Parts Counter Associate, your primary goal is to serve our customers, internal and external, exceptionally well.
To be great at this job, you have:
- 1-3 years of parts sales experience with strong industry knowledge
- Excellent computer skills. Experience in Karmak, Navistar, Cummins and/or Microsoft Office an asset
- Great interpersonal skills with a team player attitude
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written in fluent English language
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask, prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated and independent with a sense of urgency and attention to detail is critical
- Willing and able to work flexible shifts if required
Your responsibilities will include:
- Serving customers and technicians at the front and back Parts counters
- Identifying and sourcing necessary parts for the application
- Sourcing and ordering parts from a wide variety of vendors
- Searching company and supplier databases to locate parts
- Maintain inventory control through company systems and policy
- Maintain appropriate stock levels
- Working safely in accordance to WSIB, and company policy and procedures
Working at Tim’s Truck & Equipment Service
This is a full-time, permanent position at our Napanee location. Expected hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 am-5:00 pm. Compensation for this position is $45,815 – $53,450 commensurate with experience. We offer a generous benefits package including matching RRSP retirement savings, medical, dental, life insurance, LTD and years-of-service vacation. We also provide uniforms and footwear allowances.

Qualifications
- Experience working with heavy duty trucks and/or equipment
- Experience working in a parts or service department
- Experience working in a customer service role
- Experience working as a truck or heavy equipment technician an asset
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Able to physically handle up to 50lbs

We are seeking a motivated, competent team player with the following qualifications:
- 310T Truck and Coach certification
- 3 to 5 years of experience in heavy truck or construction industry
- Possess a valid Ontario driver's license
- Able to communicate effectively in both written and oral English
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work under strenuous and noisy conditions
- Excellent customer service attitude
- Commitment to lifelong learning of trade skills in order to acquire and maintain minimum levels of certification for Navistar Diamond Certification and Cummins engine certifications
